[UA] Artifact- The Typewriter

This assumes a number of things:

1) Sleepers, despite their reputation, are far from infallible and could have missed the ribbon and never noticed.
2) Dirk Allen in a moment of Clarity may have hidden the typewriter ribbon.
3) The Statosphere through supernatural phenomena hid the typewriter ribbon, it needs the manuscript, just not as early as it was produced.
4) A Sleeper cryptomancer took the ribbon and exchanged it with another. It was a major charge after all and not one that anyone else had a real chance of noticing.
4a) Now years later he releases the ribbon/reconstruted manuscript/whatever, needing another major charge.
5) The One Typewriter Ribbon was cast into the fire of the boiler, but these were not enough to destroy the information contained within. Only the intervention of the Typewriter (Mt Doom), x'ing out each character could destroy it's information.
6) A Bibliomancer or Plutomancer workign for TNI, aquisitions it with a major charge

Though I'm mostly tempted to aggree with William of Occam... do not assume more variables than is necessary. Sleepers are human, humans make mistakes, humans cover up those mistakes if they are found out, even if they are found out.... If the Sleepers were as infallible and bad ass as everyone thinks they are (including them) Hush Hush would have been the most boring book...

The only way you could possibly make this any better
would be to use some lines from Adrian Edmondsons
charactor in Blackadder Goes Forth as your guy.
"Ha Ha! You English and your fascination with ze
toilet! For us it is merely a means to an end, but for
you, the basis for an entire culture!"

Possibly.
