Yes. I think in most cases, the agent is just there to
bring possible candidates, the room forces the person
to renounce his own ways by himself.

Perhaps they lie and wait like forgotten beartrap.
Once the right pressure is put on them, Bam.

Although they are otherspaces, they tend to be fixed
thematically. Perhaps the psychic-slough from a fresh
renunciate powers the Room to move.

A looser, internal plasticity would be better for an
agentless Room. An agent and the Room seem to exist in
a communualist symbiosis - agent finds renunciation
candidates, the room provides money and living space.

The rooms are only triggered when a certain type of
food comes along. Like a smarter venus flytrap.

No, but don't let this stop you. How about a Room of
Moribund Disquietude that takes in people with lots
and lots of hardened notches and reverses their sanity
guage so they can experience emotions again one
Hardened notch = two failed).

All those sudden shock-neurotics might be unwilling to
leave the house, becoming obsessed with it and
starting a cult, converting recruits for money.

The house may expand, or become cancerous, bloating
off additional rooms like tumours, trying to
accomodate everyone. Then it starts eating people -
they walk into rooms, whose doorways vanish suddenly,
never to re-appear.

The PCs come in and remove the cult with violence. The
Room settles down and moves on, fulfilled in it's
duty.

Cheers,

Chris.
