You can even do a Good Adept/Bad Adept interpretation of their feeding junk
to the New Oslo maw.  Low Road is that they're keeping it fed because
they're its servants.  High Road is that by propitiating it, they keep it
from eating REAL people.  You just make it ambiguous and then, at the end,
retcon it into the position that makes the most trouble for the PCs.
