[UA] Otherspacial Factors

Here's an Otherspace idea that I had; needs a lot of work, mind.

It's a hotel. Reasonably posh, or it was until it burned down (under the
requisite Mysterious Circumstances) back in the fifties.

There's a parking lot on the space where it used to be, at least most of the
time. Every year, on the anniversary of the night that it burned down, it
comes back. It’s only there for a few hours – between 11:26PM and 3:33 AM,
the stretch of time that the building was actually burning.

During this time anyone can enter the building.

Inside it’s…weird. Sounds and colors are subtly off, and the people that
can be seen standing around and talking will not respond to any visitors.
Their conversations can’t *quite* be overheard, no matter how close you get
to them.

Fortunately, there’s the bellhop. Normal looking guy, in his late
teens/early twenties, with an unsettling sort of smile. He *will* respond
if approached, and is generally quite accomidating. For the right price
(and exactly what the price would be will vary from person to person) he’ll
arrange for you to see one of the guests.

Give him his bribe, and he’ll leave for a few minutes. When he returns,
he’ll hand you a slip of paper with a room number on it, and give you
directions that will let you find it. And at that, he’ll send you on your
way…but not without an admonition to ONLY knock on the proper door. He
won’t explain this, or stick around to chat any further.

Your knock on the door will be answered by the guest that you’ve arranged to
see. The “guest” can be anyone that you know or have met, so long as they
happen to be dead. What you chose to do with your few hours with them is up
to you…but be damned sure that you’re out of the building before 3:33.
