The shop owner could invite them into "the back room" where he keeps 
special merchandise", and the back room could be some sort of other-space
like Ricketyland, in the core book.

I am currently running a street level campaign and things are getting hot.
If you have the time give me some ideas on a plotline:
 
One of my characters is a photographer. He goes around getting shots of
everything and is very close to being a Chronicler - the only thing missing
is the display of his work, and he will do that in a little while.
 
He has this background story where he went to a club one night hooked up
with a girl (of the working kind) and as they were going to a hotel a gang
(armed) attacked them trying to rape the girl. She escaped (he doesn't know
how) and while they were thinking to use him instead another woman appeared
and before he passed out from the beating he saw them forcing her to the
ground. He woke up to find that the cops were at the scene half an hour
later and that the goons were killed in a firefight with them. The first
woman was gone and the second dead from the abuse. He found a photo album
with some pics in it belonging to her.
 
This is where it gets weird (for him at least - we are used to that). In the
album there were 6 pics and 7 drawings. They seem to be in chronological
order. The drawings represent what the pics do and the funny thing is that
the drawings are made earlier than the pics. He tracked them down to some
places related to the woman (like an orphanage she was raised) but couldn't
find any family. He also thinks that tha pics had something to do with the 7
deadly sins.
 
That's his story. I have determined that the first girl is an avatar of the
Flying Woman (she didn't know it then but does now) and she escaped by using
her channel. She is now wokring at an airline. Tho photographer is obviously
an avatar of the Chronicler. I do prefer to keep this cliche cause the PCs
don't know anything about the OU and they need to see how things work.
 
So my PC meets the Flying Woman and after a short talk she remembers a
special camera the Chronicler had. He directs him to a shop in London
dealing with this kind of stuff. This is where we left off, and the guys are
going to take the trip from Portsmouth (our base) to London to follow the
lead.
 
I want this to be a whole scenario, not just an encounter with a shop owner.
It is meant to last a whole game night, possibly two but not more. I have a
few ideas (like a Merchant in the store and such) but please feel free to
give me some of yours.
 
They will be better than mine if past experience serves me right.
