[UA] de rerum Chicago

Dear List,

Long time lurker, first time writer; and unfortunately, what I've got to say 
isn't directly about the game.

I've just moved to Chicago, to the Hyde Park area, so I have to ask, why is 
this list uchicago-related?

Also, since my English PhD will take six years or so (after which I hope to 
be able to speak English fluently, without the Long Island accent), I was 
wondering what anyone on this list had to say about the Chicago gaming scene 
(as such).

(Because I've been reading for a few months now, and what with Nick Cave 
being native and all the UA-ishness there make me sort of want to move to 
Australia.  But no, instead I'm here.  So what else is here?)
