[UA] The Bartman Baseball

I saw this past season as a war between two powerful Urbanomancers--one in
Chicago and one in Boston. The "lovable loser" rep both the Red Sox and the
Cubs have is a vital part of the city's identity. Every time they get close
and fail, mystical shockwaves ripple through the city, and the Urbanomancer
(and those who dwell in his shadow) can draw from that energy to resist the
actions of other groups in his domain (basically, if he knows someone's
going to use a charge, he can 'nerf' the effect. The target loses the
charge, and wonders what the heck happened).

Only this year was different. This year, the Black Jesus came to Chicago,
and his mere presence there compelled a date with destiny. Both the Chicago
Urbanomancer and his Bostonian colleague would lose much if one of their
teams won--but the results would be far more dire than that. A victory for
either side would break a decades' old ritual, and the loosed energies would
not only wreak havoc with John Q. Public, it would also awaken the Tiger, in
a night of frenzied rioting that would devastate the Urbanomancer's city
(and potentially the loser's city as well). So both sides absolutely had to
lose, and thankfully the Sleepers had an agent in the stands at the critical
moment to keep it from happening.

I don't know enough about Boston to make a guess as to who the Urbanomancer
might be, but it's obvious that the Chicago Urbanomancer is Richard Daley,
Da Mayor. Once a proxy for his father, he now picks up charges every time
something is named after Hizzoner.
