Just to add balance:
I've seen Lucinda's Spell, and thought it sucked, bit, and blew. Sure,
they used some actual New Orleans locations, but overall there wasn't
much of the N'awlins feel. The acting looked like high class Vampire:
The Masquerade sessions. The characterization was weak and haphazard,
and the plot got tangled by the end, and was about as moving as an
empire serial.
For a real death knell on this one, compare to Angel Heart, which is
also set in New Orleans, but actually succeeds rather well. Of course,
casting Robert Deniro helps, especially considering his role.
