As you can see by the feedback you surely are not,
I was planning something along these lines, because this ensures IMHO
that your players become more active in the 'building' of the story,
instead of letting the GM present everything.

I am seeing this in our Fantasy game as well, the parts of the story
the GM determines in advance (readymade adventures tend to have a lot of
this) the more passive our group becomes, on the other hand when we see
our GM is starting to improvise we become more active because we know
we can influence the story to a larger degree.
