I don't have my 2ed version available to check, but I thought that this
was covered by a rule where a knife wielder automatically does some
damage even if he fails (or maybe they do damage when attacked.
If not, then I'd say work parrying as focus shifts in reverse (ie, you
give all attackers a minus to their skill in exchange for a minus to
your own skill), or make it such that every time you attack with a
knife, it does a point of damage (maybe more for swords) even if you
fail. Or make a knife wielder do 1 point of damage automatically
whenever he is attacked.
Mr. Teapot
only has access to the 1st edition, which doesn't have that kind of stuff
