feel like someone in a William Gibson novel with all the new technology

Imagine: Michael Jackson has turned white, the Russians are not the
enemy anymore, cars look like eggs, there's been two wars against
Iraq, there's no more WTC .... and Bush II is president. And the
internet, cellulars, laptops ... the Rolling Stones are really old now.
We eat or don't genetically manipulated food ...

Oh well, back to work.
