you could rule that these are actually separate skills; ie "Agile
Typing", "Steady Grip" and "Catch Tossed Item"

It might help to emphasize that most actions don't require a roll, only
when the outcome is seriously in doubt is a roll needed.

Or you could just compare the skill system to a more familiar system,
such as d20 (I'm guessing that's what your player moved from)
