[UA] Golden Guns, and a Mini-Series

The *only* flaw I could see with the guns was that they couldn't talk, a la
Smith & Wesson in Buck Godot. I would suggest that they were, in a prior
life, old service .45s from WWII that a prop man brought in for for Darren
McGavin's Mike Hammer.
The pistols came to like McGavin and inhereted his ambivolence for playing
gritty action without any comic relief. They carefully studied Bob and Ray,
recording in a nearby studio--Abbott & Costello, Burns & Allen--all the old
greats.
Now, in their gaudy new costumes, they can't blow holes in some unlucky sap
without cracking wise. Come up with some demented, pomo "Who's on First" to
delight and terrify the shootist. Of course, he's going to have a hell of a
time being stealthy. And I think we can work in a few good "Warner Bros.
Frog" routines.
"You talkin' to me, buddy?"
"It wasn't me, it was....oh, hell. Just punch me."
