>Hmmm...books to read...

:)

>Planetary is good start, as you've said. If you haven't yet, check out the
>new "Fourth Man" compilation for the first story about some british
>occultist called "Jack" (if memory serves). The sequence with the dead Tory
>is one of the best I've seen.

I didnt, yet. And i will check. Planetary is on my amazon wish list. :) Im
just waiting for UA2 to be released, so i can "go shopping". :)

[btw, i just realize something...Amazon don't sell by Paypal. ARGH!!!]

>From Hell (Alan Moore) is a very very good source on old style Magic(k) and
>beliefs, especially the Masons.

Shopping list also. It was translated to portuguese, but had the DOUBLE
price of the original version...so i will get it ORIGINAL, and with a lower
price...sometimes i cant understand my country. :)

>Umberto Eco's "Foucalts Pendulam" (spl?) is also a brilliant piece of work,
>read it soon. Its a little tough going, but once your into it well worth
>reading. Deals with the Comte, Rosicrucians, Templars, Illuminati, Masons
>and Hermetic Magic(k), and unlike the Illuminatus Chronicles, actually
makes
>some sense!

Read it, and i love it. Actually, i enjoy Eco's works a lot. Baudolino (his
latest novel) is a great book too, VERY entertaining, but maybe not very
uable. :)

>H P Lovecraft is always a good idea. I mean in general. He'll improve your
>horror gaming.

Agreed, Lovecraft is great, but i think i have read already most of the
things he wrote. And i still have some problems with Lovecraft and some
other authors from the same period...they are too slow. And i know, i
probably gonna be kiled for saying this, but i really enjoy Clive Barker and
Stephen King much more. And i can't stand Poe, except a few pieces.

>James Herbert, who does a lot of horror, is also worth picking up, in
>particular "The Others" (No relation to the movie) with its hunchback
>anti-hero and strange visions.

>Good Omens (Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman) is a masterful spin on a pulp
>apocalypse, funny as hell and features some sequences that a true classics
>(such as the executive paintball party where they are suddenly all using
>REAL guns)

Pratchett!!! Ok, i just remember where i put my "the color of magic" txt...i
have something to read! :):)

>Just some light reading for you to be getting on with....

thanks, Edward! :)
