Note that the shadow quake appeared in Zelazny's Amber somewhat before Mr
Hite wrote about the same process.  It also describes them as like the
ripples in a drink when you throw in some extra cubes of ice, if you see all
of the possible realities that might exist as a large glass of cola.

See, now for mine that's a scary image and a cosmological product placement
all in one.
