<<Maybe we could make a list of various group dynamics,
noting what's worked (we'll leave off the "what
hasn't")?>>
Believe me, Bill In Three Persons is a godsend for roping new characters
together.
IMUAC, one of the characters is an Avatar of the Chronicler. He spends a
fair bit of time keeping the PCs together because he has foreseen great
events involving them. What would happen if they went against his visions?
Dunno.
Another thing that keeps them going is that the various characters have
different contacts. The wannabe Yardie's "Friend in the Family" skill gets
him work from Alex Abel through an intermediary. The Chronicler avatar has
been hired by a Chinese triad leader to get him an authentic copy of "The
Invisible Clergy". And so on.

If someone is murdered at your dinner party, save face by explaining that
you are hosting one of those "How To Host A Murder" mystery parties.
