I can't resist saying it, but the book reminds me of,
like, C&C meet "Martha Washington Goes to War."  It's
probably not a fair comparison, but I keep linking
Jonathan Lethem (I'm sure I didn't spell that right)
and certain episodes of "Ren and Stimpy" (particularly
Canadian Mounted Yak Police.)
