Dirk I can see doing some sort of "avatar fouling" misdirection or spell.
I've always got the impression he's not a huge fan of the Clergy, and doesn't
want to channel anything. Hmm...maybe he's channelling the archetypes into
his books... he should be an Avatar of the Magus, but he doesn't want the
clergy messing his life, so instead he writes about Avatars of the Magus, and
the characters take the karmic bullet meant for him.
Eponymous...probably should be an avatar of something, his behavior's
consistent enough that he wouldn't be breaking taboo all the time.
