Well!
Thank you all, you have given me much to consider, and, thanks for the
kudos.
A bit more about what was up: Along the lines of doing a session that "has
nothing to do with the existing plotline, but is still very UA" I was also
running Tynes' "Instrument of Precision" as a sub plot at the time. Thus,
the "Who's the Monkey Now" thread has a lot of potential unexplained
weirdness that could really fit with the initial go around.
My initial thoughts about revisiting The House: The House is physically the
same, (same location, same structure) but it's right out of Martha Stewart's
world. A yuppie couple live there, a saturn (sorry, Greg...) and an
Explorer are in the driveway, maybe mom and a little girl are playing in a
sprinkler in the front yard. I envisioned the PCs checking it out and
finding nothing out of the ordinary. Then, just as they are about to leave,
the girl starts to cry and the mom says, "there, there, here's Bobo" and
handing her daughter her stuffed animal... A cuddly monkey. The players are
hooked back in. And the cycle plays out again, with another eerie parallel
just as it seems things are OK.
The problem: Not only do I need more eerie parallels, but I also think I
need to know why this is going on! I guess I could leave it unexplained
(ala The instrument of Precision) but I was kinda hoping it there would be
some explanation about why The Kids seem the source of the eerie-ness or
initial depravity.
By the by, the initial scenario idea was inspired by the scenario in LG$.
Just with my own messed up twist on it...
Thanks again all!
