I've noticed a related phenomenon, which seems unreasonable enough that it 
could be ritualistic. For teenagers like myself, at least in my area, it's 
next to impossible to find out your blood type. I know a bunch of people 
who've tried to find out, especially after 9/11, and doctors simply won't 
tell. When asked why not, they say something like "you don't need to know."

Weird.
