Some adepts may be convinced they need to do the gestures, while others
may do it only for best effect, but as a rule of thumb casting a spell
doesn't need any chanting or hand-waving. There are spells that require
visual or close contact, but that's it.

Unless you can do some kind of magickal detection, I'd say no.
