Okay, I have a stupid question.

What exactly does an adapt do to cast a spell?

For Ex: back in the primordial ooze of RPGs (D&D), magic users cast spells
by waving their arms about, chanting weird words and waving material
components that they meticulously kept but that the players always forgot.

In UA:  Do you need to say anything? Do you need to gesture?  Can you just
stare at someone and "throw some mojo at them?

Some spells have no visible effect, can you tell that a spell has been
cast?  Do you know if, for instance, a sleepwalker has hit you with a
blast?
