[UA] Avatar question

What happens to an avatar's channels when a God Walker bumps an IC?  Do
some / all of the channels change?

For example:  I see an archetype of the Champion being big in the middle
ages, but being bumped in favor of the Soldier.

The Champion was the lone, official warrior, the strong arm of (perhaps)
the True King, a microcosm of the rulers combined might.

The Soldier has lost his individuality, he is a cog in a large war machine.

Assuming you accept my take on the above archetypes, should the Soldier's
channels be unique to the Soldier, should they reflect the Champion, or
should they be the Champion's but twisted?
