Just finished Neverwhere (probably what got me
thinking about the campaign.) Shook the dust out of
the archived Underworld stuff on RPG.net and even
poked around some of my old notes on WW's Changeling
(before getting really mad about the overly complex
cantrips rules and tossing the whole shebang.)
Actually, I even took a look at converting some of the
workable ideas from changeling to UA - mostly by doing
each "tribe" of Faerie as a colorful kind of avatar -
Watched some Linda Hamilton/Ron Pearlman TV stuff but
got a hankering for "City of Lost Children" out of it
and blew the whole Beauty and the Beast boat right out
of the water. I was actually re-reading "V for
Vendetta" for the Shadow Gallery stuff, which I wanted
to make a few references to (although my players, not
being very big fans of Moore or, in fact, very old at
all, won't get them.)
I'm also re-reading some deLint (Greenmantle and Jack
the Giant Killer, mostly -Drink Down the Moon is kind
of annoying), trying to dig up a copy of "the Mole
People" (Colorado Spring's Penrose Library System has
one copy which is currently damaged and I can't afford
the cover price until next month... well, two months
after taxes, anyway.)
I'm saddling myself with some Chicago material as
well, since I don't know much about the town (besides
the odd novel about meat processing) which is why it's
a good thing that I've got three weeks until my next
game.

I beg to differ, but usually I enjoy his stuff.
(being Really Poor, I tend to be a tough critic, I
mean, sure, I wear the old coat and buy the new book,
as preachy old Austin Phelps would have it, but
there's an AWFUL LOT of new books -and some of them
are games)
