But what if he is the Great Sage, Equal of Heaven? The guy who takes the
power of the apples from the Gods and thereby culls their numbers down to a
more manageable level? What if the Thief of the Apple is this odd Archetype
that cuts down the number of clergymen, by shifting the world in just such a
way that they are considered irrelevant now and are dumped on their
ex-divine arses in downtown Mumbai? What if these Joes are really mind
wiped ex-members of the fractured Godhead?
This fits my idea of the Toge-plauge as the primality from which the
universe springs really quite nicely... It's something outside the system
which wants the whole karmic cycle to slow the hell down and not just take
the first 333 ideas which make it up to Jungian level. So, you get the
First and Last Man, then you get the Thief of the Apple?
