[UA] OOC Knowledge and Never saying No

Rather than chucking dice at his head (does that work?) why not make it
part of the character?  Talk this over with him: He agrees to take some
skill or ability like "possessed by knowitall spirit."  He can remember
everything out of the books he likes, but every time he uses OOC knowledge
that his character couldn't have had, you smile an evil smile and tell the
others "Jared's got that faraway look and is muttering responses to that
voice none of the rest of you hear."  Then, when you decide it's
appropriate, the knowitall spirit possesses him and gets its ya-yas out.

Tweet tried something like this with a player who just could not stop
herself from giving advice to other players, even when her character was
absent.  That was the inspiration for the "wisdom" trick I wrote up in
"Usagi Yojimbo" -- that some characters are so enlightened, their smarts
rub off on their companions even when they aren't there.
