RES: [UA] Finding UA flavor in films

Hi Matt, Hi all,

here is my "short film list used for blissful UA inspiration":

Lock, Stock, and two smoking barrels
Snatch

Both are funny, terrible violent, and have enough weirdness to be taken
easily for a supernatural side. :)

Fight Club.

As Nick Wedig said: "because IS fight club". I think what i said about the
previous movies serves for this two too. Besides, there is lots of "angry"
and "power drive" in the characters and all over the movie. I think that's
very Ualish (I really need to improve my eglish skills...).

After Hours

If you can picture someone cursed, is the poor fellow in this movie. Funny,
weird, and with a "tension of violence that can spring at anytime". I just
love it. Besides, all the characters have a fine layer of weridness all over
them that is very UA. Actually, i take UA too serious, i think that's why i
need to see some good humor around it, and After Hours sums the serious and
weirdness of a terrible crap of a situation, and mix it with a lot of
humour.

Magnolia

The most UA of all, i think. Is the story of very common people, with common
(if not sometimes radical, but anyway, not stereotypical) behaviors and
actions, that have the "apice" of climax of the movie, or their lives, with
a straight bizarre supernatural event. One of the most amazing, sensitive
and real use of characters that are sometimes incredible unreal, that i saw
in a movie.

Seconds
The Innocents

Terrible pain and Paranoia and helpslessly. Very different movies, but wich
portrait fairly well, characters that had lost too much of sanity and
different madness gaugues. Seconds have made a deep impression on me a
decade ago. The pain, madness, and just fear and unfairness of the hell of
the situation the major character in the story suffer is so well shown and
done, that is almost unfair with the spectator. Is like a more "crude" and
"no fun" Fight Club, when someone realize how unfair and pointless his live
was.

La Double Vie de Véronique

Because that's how "subtly" supernatural should be. :)
Besides, the movie is really beatiful, touching, suprising. If you can run a
game with the feeling of this, you are a master of the art :)

P.S.: perguntaram na lista, quais os melhores filmes de cada, em relação a
UA. Resolvi mandar minha lista para vcs tbm. :):)
