Hasn't someone suggested this as a possible campaign?  And if not, they
should.  Working for the Comte, trying to oust a few "bad" archetypes
before it's utterly too late.  This sounds pretty damn cool to me.

There is no current avatar.  IMO, the First and Last Man is special
because it is unique and will not be filled until the last moment of
this incarnation of the world.  No one can channel it because it's not
an archetype yet.  The Comte isn't a Godwalker because there isn't an
archtype yet.  And it won't exist long enough to matter anyway.

How can they slip into the slot?  The Comte *is* the First man,
absolutely and literally.  Unless someone decides otherwise.  <grin> 

It would be interesting to see how someone tries to get there before the
Comte.  I don't see how it can be done though.   Finding a way to kill
the Comte might work, but then the universe might just chug along like
it is forever.  

I've never thought about a *different* archtype getting the 333rd spot
before the Comte though.  I imagine we'd be stuck with this world
forever.  Unless the Comte does end up being the Last Man, but can't
ascend and the world never restarts (or continues depending on your
take).

Now *there's* an apocalyptic scenario for you!  "We've got to stop Joe
Public from ascending as the Garbage Man or the Comte can't ascend and
the world will end forever 3,000,000 years from now!"  "So?"  "You wanna
watch 3,000,000 years of 'Survivor'?"
