Personally, I'd heard it was a miniatures game. =) No, really.

I don't often visit gaming stores (none close to me) and never had a chance
to see the book and realise it was something unusual. I'd somehow gotten the
impression it was, uh, a gothic miniatures game, a bit like WH40K. Don't ask
me why.

Until I read the reviews on rpg.net and fell in love with magick. So I
bought the book online.

I must admit, I was *slightly* disapointed with the rulebook. Perhaps I'd
had it hyped to me too much - perhaps I felt let down, rather than
disapointed. I think, at times, it felt a little light on background.

After reading magick, then background, I read the system, and liked it.

And 5 days later, I think, I bought PoMoM, and most of the other books since
then.
