These aren't concentration camps, and it diminishes the shock value of the
holocaust experience to call one the other.

Illegal immigrants that arrive by boat are kept in detention until they can
be assessed...this violates their rights, certainly, but I'd point out that
the vast majority of western nations in Europe simply do not accept refugees
in any large numbers, and so the reason they lack centres is that they
simply send people back right away.

There's a reason people from Iran are willing to pay to be smuggled to
Australia rather than anywhere closer - it's that we are a relatively soft
touch.
