We all have things we want. I want love.
Basically, my attitude is that the guy doing all of the work has some right
to make the rules. If people want a Camarilla style game and you're happy to
do that - great! I'm sure you'll deal with any problems as they arise.
>>>I can't generate enough players who will for-sure attend for a big larp
otherwise.<<<
If the expectations of other people are forcing you to run games in a format
that you don't want, then you have to consider whether it is worthwhile.
It's a big investment of your time and energy, and if things don't work for
the biggest investor then you *will* burn out.
Of course people want to create their own characters, and to play them every
month (or whatever). But if you don't want a format that will allow that,
either they get to play a great game on your terms, or there is *no* game.
I don't think that this is being a fascist; I think it's about expecting
players to be reasonable and being fair to yourself.
Not very UA themed, this email, but hopefully it will add to the impetus
that eventually leads to a great UA live game.
