>>>Ah, so, the disturbing thing for most people seems to be: instead of the
GM being able to force the players into a Scene any time the GM likes, other
players can do it, too.<<<
That's not how I GM in live environments. I'm a facilitator of PCs and an
adjudicator of disputes, not a narrator.
I do all of my storytelling when I write the character sheets, and then the
players take them and do whatever the hell they want. My chief joy is to
watch it all develop.
This works because I write the PCs myself, and there are no NPCs. In the
Camarilla-type games where people submit their own characters, players
either have to give you authority to write a klot of the character backstory
yourself, or you design the game in a manner completely alien to me.
>>>I like to be able to wander around and interact with people, but they
don't like to interact with me, so I thought of some rules to force
them to do it.<<<
Ah.
I don't know how to respond to that.
I think that if people don't want to interact with me in a game, then I'm
not particularly interested in them either. I just ignore them.
Wearing a costume (eg, I sometimes play in drag) and portraying an
unexpected personality will attract interest, and thus you don't lack for
people to interact with.
>>>What, you think these rules would be on all the time? They're only there
for when you can't get anyone to talk to you.<<<
If I couldn't get anybody to talk to me, I'd go to my friends and tell them
what a horrible time I was having, and go home. My friends can be of the
loyal type, so they'd probably go with me. I've never had to do this,
though.
This may be an unfair form of blackmail; most GMs, upon seeing a sizable
number of players readying to depart early, will get upset and want to know
what's wrong.
