Well... no. Ok, you can ascribe it to hormones or whatever, but
ulitmately, no. However there is a fairly strong thread running through
the Discworld novels that magic and music are just two ways of describing
or rather using the same forces.
As to the amulet, hmm, I wouldn't say that music would stop being pleasing
as such, I'd rather say that either you couldn't hear music any more, or
it just didn't touch you at all, it was an incomprehensible mix of noises.

Well, if you are going to set 'em up Joe...
The scenario is called "Two to Tango" and it was written for the Discworld
without using GURPS. It (like lots of other cool stuff) is located on
www.irishgaming.com
The scenario was originally written for Vaticon VI in 1999.
