As James pointed out, the entropomancer has to be aware of
the risk as well.
However, to steal an idea from the recent House on Haunted
Hill (good to view for freaky scenes but pretty mediocre
overall), say a bodybag gets a hold of one of the sealed
guns.
The gun's clip has been welded in (or something). So there
is no way you could check the bullets. Does it have 2
blanks, 3 bullets, and 2 blanks? Is it all blanks?
If the bodybag allows a friend to fire at him (avoiding the
Russian roulette route because of earlier conversations of
blanks at close proximity), then that is taking a risk. If
the gun is completely filled with blanks, then I suppose
the bodybag gets no charge. Thus, he knows that the gun's
remaining shots are harmless.
That might seem cheesy, but I imagine that there are very
few situations that are free of danger. So that sort of
"pinging" isn't likely to happen.
Might be an interesting relationship between characters.
One character may have short-term memory loss or multiple
personality disorder or some other mental illness where he
is often unaware of what has happened around him. "Hey,
Bodybag, I don't remember if I loaded this gun with real
bullets or blanks. Stand there while I shoot you?"
Or something.
