An idea I had a while ago was a plutomantic ritual (also vaguely appropriate to urbanomancy) where the adept wanders the city placing pennies in various public places, apparently at random.  A week later, he returns to those places and finds, through coincidences, that the pennies are gone but other people have dropped nickels in their places (in percentages equal to his plutomancy skill, so if he has a 50% skill, half the pennies are replaced and half are gone).  Each week he casts the ritual, it goes up by a form of currency, so the next week it's dimes, then quarters, half dollars, and then actual bills.  The return isn't much, but it gives some cash, especially in the long run, and doesn't involve an exchange so he gets some money without breaking taboo.
