Actually, I've been tossing around ideas for a school like this for a
while, some sort of art-based school, charges gathered by creating works
of art, etc.
I think the sacrifice part would be, that you'd have to write a piece of
music about something personal to you, and spread it to the public,
effectively giving up a part of your life to the masses. The taboo could
be something tricky like, you can never actually play or sing the music
yourself, or tell people how to play it, or try to exert your own
influence over it: you have to let power of the art take its own course.
And I love your blast idea.
But I'm stuck as to what 'domain' this school would be. If you used the
charge-gathering I just spewed out it would probably be something like
'ownership', to go with the giving-up-a-personal-thing concept...
