If memory serves me right (and it often doesn't), I
believe there were some Utopia tracts written around
the 17th century using Atlantis as a backdrop, called
something like "Atlantis: The New World". I'd have to
go home and check my copy of Imagining Atlantis by the
eternal no-fun curmudgeon Richard Ellis to see how
on/off base I am.
For some reason I want to say Francis or Roger Bacon
(Kevin Bacon?) wrote that one...but seeing that I
might be fuzzy on the whole thing at the moment
anyway, I plan not to commit to any real facts, not
yet.
ObUA: well...there has to be something UA about
mentioning Kevin Bacon in a post on Atlantis...please,
lord let that be a Bacon who wrote this Atlantean
