[UA] Magick School: Infantomancy

Actually, I dig this school because it opens the way for a
"good guy" school. Dark and depressing is a fine
atmosphere for UA, but just like there are people of utter
base evil, there can be people of pure innocence.

This school has the obsession to be innocent.

I'm not sure what the paradox would be. I did have some
ideas, though.

The paradox is that you can never grow up. You are so
enamored by childhood that you refuse to be an adult. This
still fits with the taboo that you cannot acknowledge that
children are not truly innocent.

Another possible taboo (which is too harsh in my eyes) is
that you cannot do adult things. So you cannot work, you
cannot experience hatred, etc. Of course, that really gets
in the way when you want to get that major charge. You
just know that you have to put your pee-pee in her pee-pee
if you want to have a new playmate. Ew, how gross. But
that's probably going too far.

Another taboo idea is that you must never lose your
innocence. If you gain 4 hardened notches in anything,
then you lose all your charges and can never gain more
until you lose the excess hardened notches. And probably
the same for 4 failed notches as well.

If the paradox is that you cannot act like an adult, then
that fits in with the whole "adepts cannot function
normally in society" motif. Sure, you can be a great
teacher and become a powerful adept, but you'll forever be
known by your colleagues as "that wacky lady." People
won't take you very seriously....except for the children,
and that's all that matters.

I was going to say that having a blast would be incongruous
to the idea of the school, but the victim screaming and
crying is a nice touch.

Seems awfully expensive for the benefit. In many cases,
the +10% would be offset by the opponent's +10%. If you're
not being attacked (you're ganging up on someone or you're
sure the opponent won't get back up), then the +10% is
nice, but even that isn't a lot for three charges.

Heh. Very cool. And perhaps the Youth doesn't even
acknowledge it as a demon. And as part of the spell, the
demon cannot even reveal its true nature to the Youth.

"Dammit, here is my chance to reveal Alex Abel's plan for
world domination before his goons iced me, and I have to
fucking play hopscoth with a 47-year-old toddler!"

I'd be willing to dump the sig blast for this school and
just make this a nasty mind screw. And if you can change
someone's perceptions like that, it might be worth more
than one siggy. This should definitely impose at least a
Helplessness or Self check in addition to the Unnatural
check a blast would impose.

An interesting thing about regaining lost youth is that
once you're a child again, you're not an adult, so you
cannot practice this school. I suppose in theory, the
Youth could pick up the school later and live forever in
this cycle.

This could make for an interesting NPC. For whatever
reason, the Youth (now a 12-year-old child who has been
around for 300 years) witnesses his foster parents savagely
murdered. Such an attack warps his mind, and he no longer
can regain that innocence. Thus, he can never pick up the
school.

He would be quite bitter at having his youth stolen from
him. The PCs might be approached by some kid with a Mind
and Soul of 90+% with all sorts of skills he gained over
the years. He tells them, "Those bastards killed my
parents, and now I have to grow old. I want you to find
the killers and ice them for me. If I cannot have youth,
then they cannot have old age."
