And again we come full circle to the Scientology
introductory video. Monkeys and Jesus both play a
major roll in the opening scenes. It carefully avoids
any mention of Theta beings or the evil space tyrant
who destroyed them, of course, but I suspect he would
happily have crucified a monkey. (Side note: St.
Wilgeforte, the greatest of the bearded ladies, was
discredited by a group of "saint debunkers" who said
that she was most likely inspired by a
misinterpretation of a crucifix which featured Jesus
in a robe. She left the canon with St. Cristopher, my
other favourite Saint, next to St. Francis. And
crucifying a monkey for magical power reminds me of
the /Leave it to Chance/ comic, which, as has been
mentioned, I'm sure, a great for a UA campaign without
as much of a nasty edge. In one story line, a group up
thugs are taking a stolen monkey along a procession
which recreates some magic hoo-ha or other. At the
end of the route, they attempt to sacrifice the monkey
to gain otherworldly power. They have a great name, as
a magical celtic gang, "The Beehive.")
