[UA] What Do You Beleive?

And in some cases, it's quite logical for a character to
fill that role.  Last weekend, I had the pleasure of
playing Rp Bowman's game (Royal Minister of Stuff on here),
and I got to play a boozehound (whee).  The character had a
lot of room for interpretation, so I decided he'd be an
atheist.

After all, if life sucks so bad for you, and your only
salvation is a bottle of whiskey, then it's hard to feel
positive about the cosmos.  

Indeed, someone who is so obsessed with magick is probably
likely to eschew most organized religions.  To them, that
obsession is their god.

An entropomancer may believe more in Darwinism than any
religion since it takes the strong to survive what is
dished out to them.  Also, it can't sit well in their
worldview to believe that someone is affecting the world,
that a god may dictate which chamber has the bullet.

A plutomancer would most certainly be a Mammon-worshipper
if he even acknowledged that.  Feeling guilty about the
poor and greed wouldn't fit the obsession of a plutomancer
too well.  Although now that I think of it, someone could
feel guilty.  "It's a shame that guy has to starve. 
Someone should give him money.  Not me, though.  Let the
government take care of him."

Pornomancers have their own divinity to worship.  Even if
they don't literally acknowledge her as a goddess, they're
so obsessed with her that no god could get in the way.  I
suppose there could be a "Debbie Does Bethlehem" movie.

So I could see how adepts might be atheists.  Not all of
them, of course, but it'd be easy to see how.  

Hrm, I suppose an iconomancer of Jesus would be pretty
cool.
