I would suggest nothing overt.  The destruction of something of power is in 
of itself important.

The Tape can't defend itself, and should someone do so, let them.

But the ripples through the world should start to affect them.

Have the person's lover start to repeat sections of the dialogue.  Have a 
massive sense of deja-vu every time he (she?) gets intimate.  Have them 
suffer from people desiring them.

Let them be the Tape.

The power has to go somewhere, after all.
