Off the top of my head, regarding feudal Japan, is the
Dark Horse Graphic Novel publication, Lone Wolf & Cub.
It is about a disgraced ronin and his son that travel
and the ronin hires himself (and his three-year old
son) as an assassin. Exceedingly well done and
accurate too.

You'll get lots of ideas and action related themes
from this series.

It is well worth it too!
