As I see it, when you ascend you are no longer merely obsessed with an
archetype you're so much more than that, you become it's embodiment. During
your avatarhood (?) you gradualy strip yourself of any human features except
for those characteristic of the archetype you're channeling. And when you
finally ascend you're probably no longer human enough to be surprised. You
are more the idea you've been channeling all your life than a person.

Now there's a intriguing idea - someone not obsessed with killing/being the
king/striving for independence/etc. but with ascension itself. The ascending
man? Would that work?
