I have to say, this anti-homosexual kick that the BSA is on
truly bothers me. It makes me ashamed to have been a Scout. This
principles I learned in my days seemed to have promoted
tolerance for different sexualities just as it did for different
religions. (The anti-atheist thing bothers me, too, btw.)
I'm pretty sure at least 2 of the guys that were in my in my
troop identify as gay now, openly. They were fine Scouts: one of
them was a decent friend of mine, and the other was an annoying
embarassment-- a *flaming* 11 year old singing "Papa Donb't
Preach" at summer camp is tres embarassing. He had a great voice
thpough, I'll give him that.

As for the dino vandals:
Most likely, they're stupid kids, doing stupid mindless kids
stuff. Note that they were all 15, which was the upper limit on
most of the "older" Scouts, thus probably more full of
punkitude, teenage rebellion, and digging the paramilitary
aspects of Scouting.

Hmmm. I'd be tempted to have a type of BSA organization in
UnderAge... the Junior TOSG type dudes, a la the Demolay Society
or other para-Scouting things. I know that my junior high gaming
group was mostly guys from my Scout troop, and the fascination
with gaming, Rambo, running around the woods with weaponry,
medieval arms and armor, lighting fires, funky electronics,
survivalism, professional wrestling, and weird-ass Hermetic
magic was high.
