[UA] Charge gathering

Dipsomancer charge gathering:

I've been thinking that rather than focusing on the vessel (which seems a
bit extraneous for an obsessive drinker, to my way of thinking), my
dipsomancer NPCs are looking for beverages.

They obtain significant charges for rare and unfamilar and particularly
notable (powerful, intriguingly mixed, etc.) alcoholic drinks. They are
always on the look out for ways to obtain bottles of special or expensive
drinks, and even the recipies for particularly special mixed drinks.

I figure that major chrages are the domain of extremely rare, unique
drinks. And perhaps there is an aspect of the unexpected that is critical
here - searching for a particular bottle of brandy may reduce it to a mere
significant charge, as its "wonder" is used up partially in the prior
expectations. But finding a wonderfully smooth and startling drop in a
mixed set of bottles might lift it from a minor chrage to a significant,
or even from a significant to a major. Once.

My version of Dirk (Father Tipsy, an internet-ordained exorcist by day) is
known to expect an expensive bottle of imported spirits from all those who
wish to meet him. He doesn't advertize exactly what he's looking for, but
figures that he'll get a mixture of interesting and expensive stuff from
people, and the occasional suprise. It works well for him.

[Note: in my campaign the adepts don't know exactly what sort of charge
they have obtained from their actions. But Father Tipsy *does* know when
something is unusually exquisite, and that often leads him to be more
expressive with his magic... :) ]

Take care,

Liam
