Okay, I love this kind of stuff.  It's real world, it doesn't require
any kind of supernatural element, but it seems to have some kind of little
subculture built up around it, it has rituals, and it's got about six
million ways to work plot hooks in.

PC's could be geocachers and find something... anomalous in a cache.  A
geocache might be usable as a reasonably good way to perform anonymous
transactions of various kinds.  A psycho criminal might leave hints or
traps in geocaches.
