Ah, the TZ magazine. When I was a kid, I subscribed to a
year of that. Now I really wish I subscribed for as long
as the magazine lasted. It seemed to suffice as a dumping
ground for the bizarre.

Offhand, I recall a tale of a household of people trying to
cope with the fact that it rained blood for days. And
another tale of a drive-in movie that catapulted itself out
of reality into some void where the sky and exits were
black emptiness. One guy stuck his arm in the emptiness
and melted into goo. That story sticks in my head because
it had the chant of the drive-in zombie by Joe Bob Briggs.

TZ also is what got me into Call of Cthulhu. Gahan Wilson
did an article about the RPG. I was probably no more than
16 when I bought the RPG and exposed my friends to it. It
was the best CoC fun I had, probably because the players
legitimately had no idea what the hell was going on.
Sadly, I have been unable to reproduce that effect
perfectly with UA. However, I've run Jailbreak with
mostly clueless people. That helps.

Kevin

PS, I *finally* got to play UA instead of run it. It was a
one shot written by a UA fan. I got to play a plutomancer
street scum fence (think Steve Buscemi, the character sheet
said). I always wanted to play a mage and play a fierce
bidding war with the cosmos for those charges. Wow, that
can be exhausting.
