Well....
There is a large museum of egyptian stuff run by the FRCC (Rosicrucians)
not far from the Winchester mansion in downtown SJ.
SJ is a fairly young city... Nearly all of the buildings have been
constructed in the last 30 years. Before that it was forgettable,
dwelling deep in the shadow of San Francisco.
There are very few high-rise type buildings, the exception being the
small core downtown.
Near downtown is the university. California State University, San Jose.
Also there is University of Santa Clara, run by the Society of Jesus
(possible Order of St. Cecil hook).
Around the area... Lots of the clueless occult types in the densely
wooded mountains to the south, maybe some cluefull types too. On the
other side of the range is Santa Cruz. A place that was protrayed fairly
well as Santa Carla in the movie /The Lost Boys/ and also provided the
backdrop for Clint Eastwood's /Sudden Impact/.
San Francisco to the northwest is worthy of it's own treatment.
The region has a greater-than-average occurence of the classical Serial
Killer type of crime.
There is an amusement park in town, thrill rides and all... it's not
terribly big.
The one distinctly odd memory I have is of just how hard it is to find a
freeway onramp...
