The first scenario I am writing involves the disappearance of a boy during a candlelight tour of the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose (thanks to about.com). I have a lot of info on that house, but not much yet about San Jose. I could use a link to a decent city map or online guide, or a description of interesting features by someone in the know. UA-wise I will have a cliomancer-in-residence at the house, but no-one very powerful. The house itself of course is full of trapped revenants, just as Mrs. Winchester's medium predicted...

Ever read "The Sound of Hammers," from Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run (during the American Gothic arc)? It follows a similar idea. Recall that as long as the revenants hear the 'sound of hammers,' they'll remain pacified. So one way of driving them off is to find (or make) a hammer, and start pounding. But you can't pound forever (try it...gets pretty tiring, don't it?)

And I have a specific question: according to my World Almanac of 1992 the FBI has (or had then) 56 offices in other US cities. Is San Jose among them? The PCs will operate out of the Washington headquarters (a picture of which would be nice as well), but if there is an office in San Jose I will have to create local agents as supporting cast etc.

According to the FBI web site (www.fbi.gov), the field office is in (relatively) nearby San Francisco. Lots more to do with Frisco as your base of operation, IMO. Go watch Vertigo.
