Huh. Well, the martial arts community is a big one. I've heard that too, but I also saw one of
my first sensei do it. He had one of his students come at as hard as he could, (he picked the crazy
student for this), then he took the fake knife away. Very fast and smooth. Not a lot of room for
error, either. It's also true that SOP for cops in Vancouver, according to my cop friend, is that if
the guy coming at you has a knife and he's less than fifteen or so feet away, you are going to get
cut, even if you do get your gun out in time. Knives are just very, very quick.
